At first you should look at the shape of your breast and appearance of the skin of nipples with your arms down.
Then look at the breast holding your arms up and checking for any changes of the shape or size, or skin colour of the breast.
Squeeze both nipples at their base with your thumb and index fingers in order to check for any discharges.
Raise your right arm. Using your left hand, check all parts of your right breast moving the fingers in circular motions gently testing for possible lumps and thickenings. Examine your left breast in a similar way.
When lying down, check your right breast: place a pillow under your right shoulder and your right hand behind your head. With gentle pressing circular motions examine the breast starting from the sides and moving towards the nipple.
Remain in the same position and with circular motions check both armpits.
If the result of self-examination does not satisfy you, and X-ray diagnostics emitting radiation causes fears, you may use a simple, fast and absolutely safe method of diagnostics, i.e. electrical impedance mammography.
If you detect any lumps during self-examination, see a doctor immediately in order to undergo a more accurate examination of breast using modern equipment.
